And Now I am 70!

Good morning, Father God.  You Who are eternal and infinite probably look on my little celebration of seven decades as a mere blink.  More than fifty of those years have I spent with You, and even I with my poor inner sight can see that I have grown so much in our relationship.

I don't really know whether the things I want to record here share a common theme or thread.  Perhaps they don't need to.  This blog, my secret place ("I'm running to the secret place"), doesn't need to be organized or polished.

And my tears come....

...which is one of the things I wanted to talk about with You.  Earlier this week, after a birthday party  perfectly hosted and arranged by my daughters, I returned to work and listened to Your word in Jeremiah on my commute.  I ugly-cried.  My makeup ran down my face.  I had to stop listening in order to drive safely and recover before I got to my office.

As nearly as I can recall, and checking with my Bible reading plan, I was lamenting along with Jeremiah--incidentally, the "Weeping Prophet"--about Your anger with Your wayward people.  I grieve for them.  And I do not want to miss my own guilt and disrespect and sin toward You.  Enough to break my heart.

And my tears come again....

I need to recover, Father, to see a client and then go serve at the church's block party.  I hope it is clear to You how much I love you.  If it's not, give me more time to show You!!
